Are you as frustrated as I am about how Trump is pressing families to the wall?
He promised to provide relief for working Americans, and all he's done is make it super hard for everyone who isn't rich to get by.
Count the ways Trump is pressing families to the wall below:
- HOUSING: Oregon families have spent an additional $993 on rent and mortgage payments since Trump took office.
- GROCERIES: Americans paid an additional $310 for groceries in Trump's first year compared to 2024. Grocery prices are now more than 4 percent higher than when he took office. Beef and coffee prices are hitting especially hard. The average price of ground beef has climbed almost every month to a record of more than $7 a pound, and coffee is now more than $9 a pound.
- ENERGY: Gas prices have soared since the start of Trump's Iran war. Oregonians have spent an additional $928 million at the pump, which works out to $581 more for the average Oregon family. On top of that, families here paid an extra $50 for electricity in 2025 compared to 2024.
- HEALTH CARE: Trump and Republicans refused to extend the Affordable Care Act tax cuts that help people afford health insurance. As a result, monthly premiums for ACA plans rose more than 50 percent on average in 2026. Deductibles hit record highs, up more than $1,000 on average.
- CANCER TREATMENT: We also released new data on what cancer treatment now costs because Trump and Republicans chose to delay Medicare negotiations for certain drugs. During the same period, Trump bought Big Pharma stock to increase his personal wealth while you're stuck with the bill.
Families deserve relief, not rising bills and a President who profits off of their pain. That's why I'm fighting to lower costs for Oregonians by standing up to corporate price gouging and making health care and prescription drugs more affordable. I won't stop until Washington works for working families.
Onward!
