I have massively exciting news in the race to take back the Democratic Senate Majority: Cook Political Report just moved Texas and Iowa from Lean R to Toss Up!
Six months ago, pundits deemed that both of those seats were too red to flip. Not anymore.
Right now, we are in striking distance of taking back a Democratic Senate majority, and now is the time to run through the tape.
Earlier this year, this news would have been hard to imagine. But right now, there are six Senate seats in the Toss Up column — Alaska, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Ohio, and Texas.
Five of these toss up states are currently held by Republicans! Democrats are competing in states we haven’t competed in in years!
Add in Georgia, New Hampshire, and North Carolina, where an open Republican seat is already leaning our way, and the map is as good as it's looked in a decade.
People are fed up. We watched Trump drag this country into a war with Iran while grocery prices and gas prices kept climbing. We've watched him abuse the power of his office again and again, going after his enemies, ignoring the courts, treating the presidency like a money-making venture for his family. We have watched as he’s tried to turn our democracy into an authoritarian strongman state.
There’s never been a more important moment to stand up and say HELL NO. Democrats have the winds at our backs, strong candidates running across the country, and the energy of the people who are tired of Trump’s chaos and corruption.
