Families lose. Billionaires win. That’s Trump’s agenda.

Last night, Trump gave his State of the Union address. I did not attend because I refuse to normalize Trump's parade of lies and attempts to tighten his authoritarian grip.

Instead, I held a "Fate of the Union" discussion with Senator Wyden to take questions from citizens across the state.

In the last year, Trump has made America sicker and poorer. His so-called "Big, Beautiful Bill" was a Big, Ugly BETRAYAL of working families. Programs families count on for health care and nutrition assistance have been gutted. Millions are left without the support they need to survive — let alone get ahead.

And for what?

To fund tax breaks for billionaires. Trump's Big, Ugly Betrayal was one of the largest transfers of wealth from working people to wealthy people in a single bill in our nation's history.

Families lose. Billionaires win. That's the agenda. That's what he wanted us to celebrate. I won't.

At the same time, we're watching unaccountable ICE operations cause chaos in our communities — deadly actions, little transparency, and families living in constant anxiety.

We need to reject this families lose, billionaires win mentality and build a country where families thrive and billionaires finally pay their fair share. That takes a strong grassroots team ready to fight back every single day.
