There’s a lot to be outraged about in Washington right now

There's a lot to be outraged about in Washington right now. Trump has slowly eroded our rights, expanded executive power, and spent your taxpayer money on pet projects that benefit his wealthy friends. While outrage is useful as motivation, it alone won't stop Trump's abuse of power.

Accountability does.

Under Donald Trump, we've seen federal agencies weaponized, constitutional rights trampled, and billions of dollars doled out to Trump's priorities with no meaningful oversight. The question isn't whether this is wrong — it's whether we have leaders who will actually do something about it.

Here's what I've been fighting for in the Senate:

  • As Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee, I led the fight against the Republican "Big, Ugly Betrayal" budget — a package that funneled nearly $75 billion in slush funds to ICE and another $70 billion to CBP with little oversight or accountability.

  • I've been a leading voice in demanding ethics and accountability reforms after repeated abuses by Trump's cronies. From legislation to end Trump's crypto corruption, to a bill to hold ICE and CBP accountable when they violate our rights, I am fighting to rein Trump in.

  • I've been a strong supporter of efforts to strengthen the War Powers Act and push back when presidents try to bypass Congress and the Constitution to start wars without authorization.

These are real fights to put guardrails back on executive power.

And here's the truth: the Republican forces pushing authoritarianism are well-funded, organized, and relentless. If we want accountability to win out, we have to be just as determined.

That's why I'm asking for your support today. Your contribution helps fuel the work of building coalitions and standing firm when powerful interests would rather everyone look the other way.

If you're able, please chip in now to support this fight for real accountability and fundamental freedoms.

Onward!
