Not one more penny for ICE

Just weeks after an ICE agent killed Renee Nicole Good, we saw another senseless killing of 37-year-old ICU nurse Alex Pretti.

Here in Oregon — in Portland's Adventist Health parking lot — we saw ICE detain an entire family, including a 7-year-old child, as they were seeking medical care for a nosebleed. And in Minneapolis, a 5-year-old boy, Liam Ramos, was kidnapped by ICE.

What's happening with Trump's federal immigration enforcement right now is nothing short of horrific.

These incidents reflect a broader pattern of ICE agents operating with little transparency or accountability. Families shouldn't have to fear seeking basic medical care. Children shouldn't be afraid to leave their homes. And Americans shouldn't be shot and killed for filming federal agents.

We in Congress took an oath to serve our constituents and uphold our Constitution. That means taking decisive action to rein in ICE. I am calling for full transparency, independent investigations, and serious reforms to ensure federal agents clearly identify themselves and respect due process.

Kristi Noem must go. And Congress must say clearly: not one more penny for ICE.

I will continue fighting in the Senate and demanding real accountability from Trump's authoritarian administration.

Onward,

Jeff
