Trump pardoned the people who tried to overturn the 2020 election
Rule 10 of the Authoritarian Playbook is simple: rig the elections.
Last week, Donald Trump rewarded the people who tried to carry out that vision during his first term. Trump granted pardons to Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, and others involved in the effort to overturn the 2020 election and illegally install Trump as president.
This is corruption in broad daylight. It is a direct attack on the rule of law. And it is a warning of exactly what will continue in Trump's presidency: total loyalty to corrupt insiders, zero accountability, and an open campaign to dismantle our democracy.
We cannot meet this moment with silence. We must show strength.

If Trump can erase accountability for an attempted coup with the stroke of a pen, he will do it again. And we already see him plotting for 2028 — he's trying to gain access to state voter rolls to create a national voter database, and is sowing doubt about Vote by Mail, despite its security.
He's also pushing state legislatures across the country to draw new congressional maps — diluting Black and Brown voter representation in many cases — to create additional Republican seats in Congress, which could potentially keep the House of Representatives in Republican hands in 2027.
Every day, the stakes get higher. The threats get bigger. But so does our resolve. We have beaten back authoritarian power grabs before because grassroots supporters like you refused to look away.
Now we need that energy again.
Our democracy only survives when people fight for it. Let's fight.
