New emails show Jeffrey Epstein alleged that Donald Trump knew of his conduct
New information from congressional investigators has uncovered emails in which Jeffrey Epstein alleged that Donald Trump knew of his conduct — and even spent hours at his house with one of Epstein's victims.
This is exactly why I've been fighting to release the Epstein files. The American people deserve transparency and accountability — not secrecy and stonewalling to protect the powerful.
In September, I forced a Senate vote on my bill to make the Epstein records public. Every single Democrat voted for transparency. Every single Republican voted against it. That tells you everything you need to know about who wants the truth to come out and who doesn't.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, Speaker Mike Johnson finally swore in Representative Grijalva, more than a month after her election victory. This delay — the longest in over a decade — was no accident. Grijalva has pledged to be the final signature on a discharge petition that would force a vote to compel the Justice Department to release the Epstein files. And she was.
Republican leaders know that once these files are public, the American people will see the extent of Epstein's network and who in power looked the other way — namely, Donald Trump, who was calling Republican House members to pressure them to remove their names from the discharge petition.
Our government must not serve the powerful at the expense of the people. The victims deserve justice, and the country deserves the truth.
Onward,
Jeff
