I’m standing up for our civil rights and oppose Trump’s illegal attempts to use federal law enforcement against Americans

Following Trump sending federal troops to Oregon and cities nationwide, last week, I led an amendment with Senator Wyden to require federal military and law enforcement agents engaged in crowd control or enforcement actions against protestors to display their names or unique identification and agency or service branch.

There is a name for unidentified security forces throwing protesters into unmarked vans at the direction of an authoritarian government: fascism. This happened under Trump in 2020 and is happening now across the country.

Every single Democrat supported my amendment. But every single Republican opposed it, killing it.

That tells you a lot.

Not one Republican will stand up against Trump's authoritarian tactics.

Without personal identifiers, agents feel free to attack peaceful protesters, striving to incite violence. And we are seeing that in Portland right now.

Did those attacks by Trump's troops make you gasp? They made me. It should disturb every patriot who believes in freedom.
