Trump says “good can come” from a government shutdown

Did you hear that? Donald Trump actually said, "A lot of good can come from shutdowns."

He must have forgotten that the last time Republicans forced a shutdown, it cost our economy $11 billion — and countless families lost paychecks, services, and stability.

Republicans shut down the government to attack your health care. They refuse to come to the table with Democrats to fix the Trump health care crisis — the one they caused with their Big Ugly Betrayal budget that kicked 15 million Americans off their health care and skyrocketed premiums for 20 million more. The same bill that gave tax breaks to corporations and billionaires.

And now, Trump and his MAGA allies seem committed to extending the shutdown, all while Americans' health care premiums more than double.

When Trump says "good can come" from a shutdown, he's not talking about what's good for you, or for your family, or for our country. He's talking about what's good for himself and his billionaire buddies.

This is what the Republican agenda looks like: families lose, billionaires win.

Democrats are standing up to this chaos. We're fighting to protect health care, lower costs, and keep government working for you. But we need grassroots power to fight back and hold the line.

Chip in now to help us fight back against Trump's shutdown and his attacks on working families.
