Break free from plastics

Plastic pollution is a crisis threatening our climate, our economy, our public health, and our planet. Microplastics are invading every part of our lives — from the water we drink to the food we eat — and chemicals in plastics are linked to infertility and premature birth.

This is a growing danger we can't ignore.

That's why I introduced the Break Free from Plastic Pollution Act. My bill is a comprehensive plan to take on the plastics crisis by phasing out harmful single-use plastics, reforming our broken recycling system, and reducing the amount of wasteful plastic produced in the first place.

Importantly, it also shifts responsibility to where it belongs: the corporations that manufacture and profit from this waste. For too long, families and communities have shouldered the cost of cleanup while corporations have avoided accountability.

Together, we can break free from plastic pollution, protect our health, safeguard Oregon's natural resources, and preserve our planet for future generations.
