As I ran in the dark, I shored up my resolve to fight back against the Republican idea that families lose and billionaires win. By the time I finished, the dawn was breaking — and my determination to keep pushing forward was surging.
In two weeks, the government funding deadline hits. Republicans are already scheming for another partisan plan that protects billionaires while leaving families behind. And Donald Trump is cheering them on, hoping for chaos to weaken our democracy.
Democrats are fighting for a government that lowers costs, makes it easier for you to afford your health care, and protects the checks and balances that are so critical to our democracy.
We must not allow there to be a partisan continuing resolution that continues with the Republican theme of families lose and billionaires win. And we must use every ounce of our leverage in the Senate to make that a reality.
That's why I launched my Race to Save the Senate to Save our Republic. Every step, every workout, every action is about rallying our grassroots power to resist Trump's agenda and protect the future of our democracy.
