This is what happens when you try to mess with democracy

Last night in a special election, Ohioans delivered a resounding "NO" and rejected a proposed constitutional change that would have made it harder to pass future amendments to the Ohio Constitution.

Ohio Republicans saw the writing on the wall — they were going to lose in November when Ohio voters got to weigh in on the right to access reproductive healthcare. So they tried to flip their state from majority rule to a minority chokehold and cheat the system.

Thankfully, their effort failed last night. But we know that they are going to throw every dirty trick they can come up with against my friend Senator Sherrod Brown when he runs for re-election next year.

There is no better fighter for Ohioans than Sherrod, and he is one of my closest friends and allies in the Senate fighting for working families.
