Donald Trump could still win the presidency
Donald Trump's first indictment has been handed down. But what's really scandalous is the reaction from the right.
Trump has been indicted for breaking the law while trying to hide embarrassing secrets just days before the 2016 election. Like anyone, Trump is innocent until proven guilty. But like anyone, he should be fully accountable for any crimes he committed.
But that's not what the Republican Party seems to think.
Nearly every Republican politician is saying, in effect, that Donald Trump is above the law. That no matter the evidence, or what crimes he might have committed, they don't think he should be prosecuted.
Trump tried to orchestrate a coup to hold onto office. He tried to withhold crucial aid to Ukraine to blackmail them for fabricated dirt on his political opponent. They let him off for that, and now they're saying that regardless of any crimes he committed, he should get off again.
No matter how far into the sewer Trump goes, it seems most Republican leaders will be right there with him.
That's why they cannot be trusted with power, and why I'm asking for your help to ensure they don't win back the Senate.
We know if Trump wins the presidency and MAGA Republicans take the Senate, all of our rights will be in danger. Trump has no respect for our law, our Constitution, or our institutions, and apparently Republicans will never stand up to him. We can't risk them taking power again.
We must work tirelessly to build the grassroots movement needed to stop Trump, stop his MAGA allies in the House and Senate, and protect our democracy.
I've asked you, time and time again, to join me in this fight. I know we're all tired, but we cannot grow weary. We must keep up the fight.
The stakes could not be higher.
