It really was a grassroots movement

We did it! Senator Raphael Warnock has been reelected in Georgia.

Rev. Warnock stepped up in 2020 and narrowly won a critical seat, and became the 50th vote in the Democratic majority. Now, after John Fetterman's victory in Pennsylvania, Warnock's victory makes him our 51st vote.

51 seats is going to make a huge difference. It means that committees in the Senate will no longer be equally divided, so we can advance more legislation. And it means we'll have, as President Obama said, "more breathing room" and "it prevents one person from holding up everything."

Sen. Warnock's victory is the final victory of a 2022 campaign that proved once again that when grassroots activists like you step up, Democrats win.

Here's what Team Merkley did in this election:

→ Members of Team Merkley made 33,420 grassroots donations, averaging just $31 each.

Those $5 and $10 and $35 donations added up — together we contributed over one million dollars into Oregon and Senate races. Over $200,000 of that was directly into state party door-knocking other voter contacts in Oregon.

→ Team Merkley, along with volunteers across Oregon, wrote 44,022 letters in support of Raphael Warnock, John Fetterman, Catherine Cortez Masto, Maggie Hassan, and many others. And thanks to our generous grassroots supporters, we were able to supply stamps and envelopes for local volunteers to write letters to voters.

→ And so many Team Merkley volunteers made thousands of calls to voters and knocked on countless doors here in Oregon and around the country.

We bucked history by holding the Senate in a midterm. We won a very tight Oregon governor's race and two open House seats. YOU did this!

I will be forever grateful that you recognized all that was on the line this election and got involved by volunteering, donating, and just plain showing up. Your work showed that progressives win together when we fight hard together.

I'm hopeful that you'll continue fighting with us as we look ahead to elections in 2024. We'll be facing an even more challenging Senate map.

We'll also have the opportunity to flip the House back into Democratic hands. And we'll be defending the White House from Donald Trump or some other MAGA Republican.

Onward!
