One thing to do before the holiday weekend:
It would be funny if it weren't so dangerous. There are still prominent people in Donald Trump's circle who believe he won the election, there's a conspiracy afoot to steal it from him, and believe he's going to be reinstated any day now.
By now, we're all used to hearing this sort of nonsense from Donald Trump and his leading acolytes. But let's be clear: it's all part of a massive lie designed to delegitimize our free and fair elections.
And it's up to us to stop it.
From bogus "election audits" to threats against elections officials, Trump's allies have shown us they don't care about laws or our democracy one bit. Over and over again, from their time in the White House and Congress to the January 6 capitol insurrection, they've shown us they'll stop at nothing to take back power.
2022 has to be nothing more than an epic repudiation of not only their lies but their cynical, hate-filled worldview. And we're going to do it by organizing the grassroots from coast to coast.
Please chip in before the holiday weekend and let's build up this grassroots campaign together.
Republicans know this, so they're doing everything they can to slow us down. From passing voter suppression laws to outrageous gerrymandering to wild conspiracy theories, that once grand old party is intent on becoming America's only party.
Our ability to fight for the kind of progressive future for our friends, families, country, and planet is what gives me hope. Every day, I'm reminded about all the good we can do when we don't lose hope.
