Sign my petition: universal pre-K, child care, college aid.

President Biden has proposed transformational investments in American families. The rich and powerful who would rather rip off working families than empower them are trying to distract from what's in the plan for the obvious reason that the more people know, the better they'll like it!

Last time I told you all about what it means for health care.

Today, let's talk about what it means for education—and what it does to support families.

Universal pre-K for every child in America. It's been a while for me, but as any parent knows, watching a three-year-old soak up knowledge is an extraordinary thing. And we know that pre-K makes a huge, lifelong difference. So, this plan provides universal pre-K for every three- and four-year-old in our nation.

Support child care for working families. We have a child care crisis in this country. It's too hard to find and too expensive once you find it. Juggling child care makes finding work to make ends meet a struggle for too many families. We'll expand on the historic investments in child care made during the pandemic relief programs.

Expand college financial aid and make community college tuition-free. College should be affordable and accessible to every person that wants to attend. That's especially true for community college, where students go to learn critical skills that will put them on the path to a good-paying job.

Every young person should have the opportunity to expand their minds, build their skills, and make the best of their life. And it's in our nation's best interest to help them do that.

When I was in elementary school, my dad, who was a mechanic, viewed our public schools and education as such a valuable part of the American way. He told me if you go through the doors of that schoolhouse and work hard, you can do just about anything because we are fortunate to live here in America.

Education is essential to the future of our children—from preschool through affordable college. And pursuing that vision is exactly what this bill does.

To support these historic investments in education, sign my petition. Tell Congress: We have to build back better!

Next up, we'll talk about what this Build Back Better plan means for the climate crisis.

Onward!
