Punxsatawney Phil and Mitch McConnell

We're not doing this again.

We're not going to live in some real-world version of that old Bill Murray movie, Groundhog Day.

Rewind the tape 12 years.

It was 2009. American families faced a deep economic crisis. The country had a newly-elected Democratic president. And the Republican leader in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, used every procedural trick he could to stop us from helping the American people.

Now, it's 2021. American families face a deep economic crisis. The country has a newly-elected Democratic president. And the Republican leader in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, has vowed to use every procedural trick he can to stop us from helping the American people.

We're not doing this again.

The American people have made it clear: We need to move heaven and earth to get vaccines out to people as fast as we can.

And while we work to end the pandemic, we must support people who are struggling. Small businesses have closed. Workers have lost jobs. Families are going hungry. Evictions are mounting.

The filibuster is an anti-democratic relic of a racist Jim Crow era. It's an unacceptable restraint on the will of the people in the best of times. Right now? It's outrageous to even talk about using these procedural tactics to stop progress.

This is a tough fight. We need tens of thousands of Americans to stand up, speak out, and fight back. Will you take action right now and add your name to this critical petition?

Tell the Senate: Don't let the McConnell veto keep us from helping Americans.

We're not doing this again.
