We need to take this very seriously.

Donald Trump, in his campaign for a second term, has said that Senator Ted Cruz is a top candidate for the next Supreme Court vacancy.

Ted and I don't see eye-to-eye on much. For that matter, I don't want to see any more of Donald Trump's picks on the Supreme Court. The result would be a damaging destruction of government by and for the people.

We need to ensure our Supreme Court is its own equal branch of government—not subservient to anyone. Our next Supreme Court justices should be more like Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor than like Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas.

There's just too much at stake.
