The DREAMers won (for now) and what we must do next

Today, the Supreme Court stood up for the 1.7 million DREAMers that came to this country as infants and children and are as American as my kids.

Today, the Supreme Court told Donald Trump that he cannot end the DACA program and start deporting the DREAMers just because he wants to.

Today, the Supreme Court made it clear: When the federal government reverses itself, it must have a compelling reason in the national interest to do so.

This is great news for DREAMers who Trump has forced to live in fear and limbo for the last two years. And great news for our democracy.

But it's also a challenge to all of us:

We must end Donald Trump's presidency.

We must reject those in power who enable his worst instincts.

We must take back the Senate.

And we must, at long last, provide permanent protections and a path to citizenship for these 1.7 million DREAMers.

Onward!
