The non-impeachment news you might have missed

As the House of Representatives continues its investigation into impeachable offenses committed by this President, our work to serve the people continues.

Just a few of the things you might have missed over the last couple weeks:

  • We learned that the Trump administration intends to dramatically cut back the number of refugees accepted to our country to the lowest level in our history. I'm leading a team of 16 Senators calling on the President to restore a refugee policy that saves lives, increases our global influence, and reduces violence around the world.

  • We've achieved a big milestone for the RAWR Act, my legislation to stop wildlife poachers trafficking in elephants, rhinos, and other at-risk animals. It passed through the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on a bipartisan vote.

  • The US House passed my bipartisan bill to allow cannabis businesses access to use banks. It's common sense. After all, requiring them to operate on an all-cash basis is an invites crime and puts lives at risk. Next up, the Senate.

  • In committee, I secured an additional $938 million in funding to reduce homelessness, including rental assistance for 1.2 million families. Next up, a full Senate vote.

Like you, I'm stunned by the bombshell revelations that seem to come out every day about what the President is doing to undermine our democracy and our international standing. And we'll take action, one way or another.

Meanwhile, we can't let Donald Trump stop our progress on critical things that matter to the American people.

Onward,

Jeff
