Vote by Mail

Oregon had one of the highest turnout rates for youth voters in the country in 2022. That's fantastic!

One of the biggest reasons for that is Vote by Mail. It makes voting more accessible and empowers young voters to make their voices heard.

Oregonians have been voting by mail for over 20 years, and because of it, we consistently have some of the highest rates of voter participation in the country. It's safe, secure, and leaves a paper trail – and there's no waiting in line to cast a ballot. Vote by Mail needs to be the law of the land, and when we pass the Freedom to Vote Act, it will be.

I championed the Freedom to Vote Act to improve access to the ballot box for Americans, advance commonsense federal election standards and campaign finance reforms, and protect our democracy.

Voting is a right and should be accessible and easy for all. The ballot box is the beating heart of our democracy, yet Americans continue to face an onslaught of voter suppression efforts by extremist Republicans that make it harder to vote or intentionally disenfranchise certain groups of voters. Democracy doesn't exist unless every eligible voter can vote and have their vote counted, and Vote by Mail will make it easier to do that.

Vote by Mail is a democracy issue, not a political issue. We should embrace this safe, convenient way of allowing as many people as possible to vote. I know you're with me in this fight, and I'll keep doing everything I can to pass the Freedom to Vote Act, take Vote by Mail nationwide, and make sure all Americans can have their voices heard in our democracy.

Onward!
