Motivation

In 2010, President Obama signed the Dodd-Frank Act. I proudly supported the reforms in that law because the big banks that caused 2008's Great Recession must not be allowed to repeat the bad bets that nearly destroyed our economy.

This year, however, with Republicans in charge, Congress and Donald Trump began to unravel the regulations put in place to protect the American people against the greed and excesses that pointed us down the path to economic crisis.

I say this because this is another example of how tough times can feel under Trump and extreme Republican rule, when policies are enacted that aren't supported by a majority of Americans. When our leaders point us down the path to repeat history's mistakes.

I say this all to remind you all that we have a voice. We have the power to strategize, organize, and fix the pillars of our democracy. To take back our country one election at a time.

Americans from across the country are counting on us. People who work hard, come home to their families, and are doing everything they can just to get by.

I believe in you all and I believe in us. We must remain motivated for our children, for our future, for every American who feels voiceless under this extreme administration.

Let's do this.
