Taking children from their parents? Hell no.

Last weekend, I visited a Brownsville, Texas warehouse that reportedly has 1,000 children locked inside. I wasn't allowed to enter. No member of Congress has been inside.

Donald Trump has implemented a horrific child-snatching policy. He has instructed immigration agents to rip children from the arms of their parents. These are families who are fleeing to America because their lives are at risk at home.

I'm trying to shine a spotlight on this cruel, horrific policy. Join me and tell Donald Trump to immediately reverse this inhumane policy and reunite families.

This policy is 100% unacceptable. It's morally bankrupt. It is inconsistent with any religious tradition anywhere.

As I've tried to highlight this abuse, the White House has responded by launching a smear campaign against me – because their policy is indefensible. We must not be distracted from fighting for humane treatment.

For almost a century and a half, the Statue of Liberty has been a beacon to those fleeing oppression. Let's restore the dignity and respect our country has traditionally afforded people coming to our shores. We need to stand up for what America should be.

It's up to us to publicize this abuse and to do everything we can to bring it to an end immediately. Sign my petition right now.
