Merkley on the MAX

Posted by Carla Axtman on May 14, 2008

Jeff is spending mornings on the MAX this week, talking with commuting voters about the rise in gas prices. Some are attributing a spike in light rail ridership to the skyrocketing costs of fuel.

On Tuesday, Jeff teamed up with State Representative Jackie Dingfelder

That's a great video of Merkley meeting with Portland commuters. He comes across as very likable and agree with him that this country needs change. Gas prices have risen while wages have stayed the same. How are regular working Americans supposed to keep up with the increased cost of health care, energy and food if their wages are stagnant? That's why we need to elect legislators like Merkley who will fight for energy independence and a living wage. We can't stay on the same course. It's obviously not working.
