Jeff Merkley Rocks Washington County Dems Meeting
Posted by Carla Axtman on October 24, 2007
Last night at the Washington County Democrats meeting, Jeff Merkley gave a great speech to an inspired crowd of Democrats!
Speaking to a packed house at the Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue building in Aloha, Jeff covered topics ranging from ending the war in Iraq, health care and climate change. Jeff also talked about the extremely successful legislative session and thanked the legislators present in the room for their hard work--and their great representation for Washington County. Jeff's speech finished up with a rousing standing ovation from the crowd!
After the speech, Jeff took questions from the enthusiastic crowd about his run for US Senate for Oregon--and was treated again to another roaring standing ovation.
Washington County is a key electoral battleground in Oregon--and the Washington County Democrats are a mighty force in Oregon. It was wonderful to see that group have such a tremendous response to Jeff Merkley.

Excellent speech! I learned a lot. I support your candidacy, Jeff, though I have no money to donate to the cause. I hope you'll do something for health care in this country. If I didn't have to pay so much for health insurance ($1,400 a month PREMIUM for two adults, 60 and 59 years old) I'd have cash to donate to your campaign. And, oh yes, Tobias Read is our son.
