Merkley Campaign Raised Over $2 Million in Third Quarter

Online Support Drives Merkley's Momentum

In an email to supporters today, Jeff Merkley announced that his campaign for U.S. Senate raised more than $2 million in the third quarter of this year, more than any other Democratic candidate in Oregon history. More than 21,000 people have contributed to Jeff Merkley's campaign. Nearly 90 percent of contributions since July 1st were under $100.

Online contributions continue to soar for Merkley. The Merkley campaign raised over $850,000 online in the third quarter, more than all previous quarters combined.

"Big oil and big drug companies are pouring money into Oregon to save Gordon Smith, but Jeff Merkley has the momentum," said Matt Canter, Merkley campaign spokesman. "Oregonians are sick and tired of the failed economic policies of George Bush and Gordon Smith, and they are ready for change."
