Jeff Merkley has a plan to bring down the costs of health care and deal with the looming nursing shortage. Merkley was an early supporter of Ron Wyden's Healthy Americans Act and has endorsed a congressional proposal to establish a National Nurse Service Corps to provide educational scholarships to nurses that commit to serve in a health facility determined to have a critical shortage of nurses. More on his plans can be seen here.

Script: Mary

Mary Sorteberg: Nursing isn't just a job, it's really a calling.

That's how my husband, Jeff, sees running for the U.S. Senate.

Jeff is passionate about changing this country and fixing health care so everyday people get the care they need.

He wants to take power away from the drug and insurance lobbyists and give it back to patients, like the ones I see.

Jeff will get his health care ideas from families, patients, and nurses like me.

Female Voiceover: Jeff Merkley. Democrat for Senate.

Jeff Merkley: I'm Jeff Merkley, and I approved this message.
