Statement from Jeff Merkley on the Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks

"Seven years ago, the nation witnessed a tragedy that touched all Americans and brought the country together. Today, we honor those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001 at the collapse of the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. We honor those police officers, firefighters, and rescue workers who perished that day - true American heroes who lost their lives to save hundreds of others. My family's thoughts and prayers go out to all those who lost their loved ones and all those who sacrifice for our country.
